This synergy is primarily seen in the following areas:

Integrated Water Purification & Desalination

  • Ikusasa Water leads the design, manufacture, and commissioning of modular treatment plants. For example, they utilize membrane ultra-filtration (UF) to convert surface or underground water into high-quality potable water.
  • Ikusasa Chemicals provides the specialized chemical dosing and operational support required to maintain these plants, ensuring they meet rigorous SANS 241:2011 drinking water standards across sectors
  • Case Example: The group has successfully implemented large-scale solutions such as the desalination plant in Sedgefield (Garden Route) and packaged treatment plants capable of producing 700 – 10 000 kl/day of potable water.

Regional Expansion & Logistics

  • Ikusasa International acts as the logistical and strategic engine for projects outside South Africa. It facilitates partnerships in regions like Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Namibia where the group offers chemicals distribution solutions and desalination and water scarcity solutions to cross-border stakeholders.
  • The group often houses filtration and dosing equipment within ISO shipping containers, allowing for rapid deployment to remote rural or industrial sites via their proven logistic networks.

Strategic Industrial Partnerships

The group leverages its collective reputation to secure significant public-sector contracts and investment:

  • Government Collaboration: They have partnered with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) to expand rural water infrastructure and have entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with municipalities for long-term projects, such as a major projects at Theewaterskloof Municipality and Cape Agulhas Municipality
