Community Development Report
Transforming Regional Sport & Economy
Ikusasa Group of Companies measures corporate success by the resilience and growth of our host communities, using targeted investments to unlock regional economic and human potential.
Executive Summary
At Ikusasa Group of Companies, our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) framework goes beyond passive philanthropy. We deploy strategic capital and active governance to solve complex community challenges.
Our flagship intervention in the Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Easter Tournament demonstrates how corporate leadership can unify fractured communities, professionalize grassroots structures, and stimulate township economies across Gqeberha and the wider Eastern Cape.
Key Impact Milestones
Structural Reformation & Governance (2025–2026)
- Conflict Resolution: Successfully mediated and merged two deeply divided rival football associations in Motherwell into a single, unified Local Football Association (LFA) within 12 months.
- National Validation: The historic structural merger attracted national oversight, resulting in the National SAFA President spending his Easter weekend on-site to endorse the unified body.
- Institutional Benchmarking: Providing ongoing corporate mentorship to elevate MOFA into an outstanding, compliance-driven model LFA.
Youth Development & Talent Pathways
- Geographic Reach: Providing a safe, professional competitive platform for youth athletes across Motherwell, Gqeberha, and the greater Eastern Cape.
- Global Scouting Pipeline: Aggressively scaling the tournament’s profile to attract domestic and international talent scouts, creating direct professional pathways for township youth.
Township Economic Multiplier Effect
- Value Chain Activation: Stimulating the local micro-economy by driving consumer foot traffic to informal vendors, logistics providers, and local retail outlets during the tournament period.
- Strategic Co-Investment: Collaborating with localized corporate stakeholders, including co-sponsors Swartkop (Marina) Sea Salt, to maximize regional economic impact.

Building Our Heritage
Ikusasa Group & Iinkonjane Zoofaku Foundation
At Ikusasa Group, we believe in creating and enabling environment, with Iinkonjane ZooFaku slogan “ Our slogan: “We are Africans – building Africans.”, and for the past three years, we have actively supported and enabled the Iinkonjane Zoofaku Foundation—a unique Non-Profit Company (NPC) born from Isiphehlo, the cultural group of the Faku twins (Amawele ooFaku).
Officially formalized with a credible governance board in 2026, the foundation restores dignity, builds capacity, and honors our African heritage.
Embracing Our Africaness
Traditional practice is not detached from modern society; it is a key cog of our identity. The call to traditional healing touches every corner of our world—including CEOs, government ministers, priests, doctors, and artists.
Ikusasa Group sponsors this platform to combat cultural ignorance. We aim to celebrate, teach, and align our heritage with sustainable community growth.
